A few posts ago, I wrote about how there should be a social network for dreamers. About the closest I've seen is Pinterest. Infamous for planning weddings and sharing craft ideas, Pinterest can also help lead you to new information by just clicking on the image (or "pin".) Search Pinterest's site to find images or collection of images (called "boards") to find information about dreams and what you want to dream about.
You can also comment on other people's pins but don't expect to get a good online conversation going. Folks on Pinterest tend to be rather quiet. There also have been some Pinterest spam. There is a way members can report suspect pins to the Pinterest staff, who then place a warning on the pin so that you do not accidentally download any malware. But you aren't surfing the Web without security software, are you?
I happen to like collecting pins about animals, particularly horses. After a relaxing session looking at numerous pins of horses, guess what I often dream about now? I do have a board devoted to Peter Gabriel (my favorite dream topic -- hence the title of this blog) but horses make a nice alternative. Try making up a board of topics that you want to dream about and see if it helps give you sweeter dreams. You can also try to make a board of visual clues you see in dreams to help you recognize when you are dreaming.
If you have a website, place images on it and post the pins to drive traffic to your site. I have one such board devoted to dreams and nightmares. You may also connect with a fellow dreamer. Please please use only royalty-free images on your website. Pinterest officially does not like copyrighted images on its site but currently they still abound. Pinterest may remove pinners that constantly break the Terms of Service.
The limits of Pinterest, especially for dreamers, does not seem to have been tapped yet.
