Dreams & Finding Your Life’s Purpose

You can find some great information in dreams.  Some of this information can change your life and the lives of others.

Dreams Through History

Legend has it that Paul McCartney dreamt of a tune that he called, “Scrambled Eggs.”  He was sure the tune had been written before, but no one he played the tune for recognized it.  He changed the title to “Yesterday” and the rest is history.

Many Native American tribes would send any youngsters on the brink of puberty out into the wilderness to fast and pray for a special dream.  This dream or vision quest was to contain information of those children’s life purposes.  They could not return to the tribe until they had such a dream and told it to their tribal elders for interpretation (although often relatives would sneak out to be sure the dreamer had food and water.)

Holy books such as the Bible describe heavenly beings like angels or God Himself appearing to people in dreams.  Despite overwhelming evidence that God does not exist, people still believe in the Biblical stories and dreams recorded.  Such a dream is recorded in Matthew 1:18 – 25, where an angel appears to a carpenter named Joseph and tells him to still marry Mary, even though somehow this self-proclaimed virgin was pregnant.

But…

Not everything in dreams needs to be taken so seriously.  The people you meet in dreams aren’t necessarily going to be any smarter, more open-minded or evolved than you are.  For example, a recent study by Kansas Wesleyan University on 66 students noted that your dream world is populated with the same color people in your waking world.  So if live in a black neighborhood and watch television shows featuring black characters, most of the people in your dreams will be black.

But the people in your dreams, although not any wiser than you, can help you see things from a different point of view.  Sometimes, that makes all of the difference.

My Experience

Over the decades, I’ve asked the people in my lucid dreams what my life’s purpose was.  Most of the time, the people ignored me.  The only one to answer was Dream Peter Gabriel.  After ignoring my question over the years, in 2010 he finally replied.

He looked me straight in the eyes, grabbed a hold of my shoulders and drew me so close that his lips brushed my right ear.  He then whispered, “Pay attention. The following is your life’s purpose:” and then he proceeded to describe a particularly lewd and anatomically difficult sex act involving toffee and rolling down a hill into a river.  I missed most of what he said because I was laughing so hard.
